Series Premise:
Brad Morris, a United States Navy SEAL, buried the last members of his command. It is the year, 2015 in Djibouti, a small country located in West Africa at the mouth of the Red Sea.
Something of unknown origin has killed nine-tenths of the world’s population. Governments and society have collapsed.
Brad monitors the radios and listens to the world die. To the best of his knowledge, he is the sole survivor of the entire population of the Earth.
After several days of listening to the end of the world, Brad has had enough. He readies one of the base's small boats, a sixty-five-foot computerized offshore patrol vessel, complete with machine guns, mini-guns, and a missile launcher. He stocks it with ammunition, extra food, and fuel. Brad is going home. If anyone else is still alive, it has to be his grandfather.
Home is Jacksonville, Florida. Brad knows the 65-footer cannot make the voyage straight across the Pacific to the United States; so he plots a course from Africa, around India, and down the Malay Peninsula. From there he turns back north, up along Southeast Asia, and past Russia to the Bering Straits. It is only a short distance from Russia to Alaska. He can easily cross over to Alaska and make his way home. Along the way, he finds other survivors. Along the way he finds out that not everyone is dead. Roughly ten percent of
the Earth's population is still alive. Some of the survivors are nice decent
people but some are really rotten to the core. In a situation like that, with
weapons of any and every kind just laying around anywhere, the bad guys are in
charge. Women are property and chaos reigns.
Brad meets a few people and winds up with a crew for his boat.
